Gold and silver En tremblant brooches from the XIXᵉ century
In the XIXᵉ century, "en tremblant" brooches stood out among the most ingenious jewelry made in France. Composed of gold and silver, they are often adorned with old-fashioned cut diamonds, attached to thin, flexible metal rods, which react to the slightest movement.
Highly prized under the Second Empire and into the Belle Époque, these brooches evoke the lightness and vivacity of floral motifs, insects or stars. Worn at balls and official events, trembleuse brooches were spectacular pieces, symbols of refinement.
Today, they attract collectors and connoisseurs of antique jewelry, seduced by their unique animation and their direct link to the history of French luxury.
