The Art Deco ring set with a sapphire, made in Paris in the 1920s.

In the 1920s, Parisian jewelry was deeply influenced by the Art Deco aesthetic, characterized by geometry, symmetry, and precision of execution. This sapphire ring embodies this quest for balance between structure and sparkle. Made of platinum, a metal prized for its strength and neutrality, it features a rigid setting with straight lines or cut edges. The sapphire, cut in a cushion, oval, or emerald shape, occupies the center of the composition, often framed by old-cut, baguette, or brilliant-cut diamonds.
The regular arrangement of the stones and the care taken with the proportions reflect the high level of precision characteristic of Parisian workshops at the time. These rings are the result of both artistic and technical design: the millimeter-precise openwork, the calibration of the diamonds, and the mastery of the setting contribute to the visual purity and modernity of the design.
True works of goldsmithing, they remain a refined expression of the French Art Deco style.

The Art-Deco jewelry (1910-1935)

In rupture with the Art-Nouveau movement and yielding to the desire of simplicity, symmetry and aesthetic order, a movement emerges and asserts itself from 1910. But it is after the first world war, in 1925, during the international exhibition of decorative arts that the Art-deco style prevails.

This new jewelry is set with precious or semi-precious stones previously unused. Their design follows the geometric shapes of clothing and accessories and platinum is essential.

Cartier, Boucheron, Van Cleef and Arpels, Mauboussin are at the forefront of creativity during these years
