Sleeper earrings are a symbol of elegance and refinement, spanning the ages since the 19th century. Appreciated in France since the Napoleon III era, they are distinguished by their gold and silver settings, often set with diamonds or precious stones. Their name, “dormeuses”, comes from their ingenious design: thanks to a secure, comfortable clasp, they could be worn even while sleeping.
These antique jewels, with their delicate, elaborate design, reflect the exceptional skills of the jewellery craftsmen of yesteryear. The most sought-after models feature stones set in collars or claws, offering a discreet yet refined sparkle. Today, sleepers are making a strong comeback in vintage trends, seducing with their retro charm and timelessness. They embody a precious heritage, both classic and modern, perfect for sublimating any silhouette with distinction.
