Platinum Solitaire Ring set a Diamond weighing 1,18ct and Baguette Cut Diamonds.

This platinum solitaire ring features a 1.18-carat brilliant-cut diamond at its center, flanked by two baguette-cut diamonds set on either side along the upper part of the band.

Inspired by the geometric lines of the Art Deco period, this ring combines the simplicity of a solitaire with the elegance of baguette-cut diamonds. It was created by Héritage de France® using diamonds removed from vintage jewelry, carefully selected and reset in a new platinum mounting.

It is therefore a contemporary Héritage de France® creation featuring diamonds from vintage jewelry, rather than an antique Art Deco ring.

The center diamond is accompanied by a gemological report issued by the French Gemological Laboratory (LFG) detailing its principal characteristics.

Platinum Solitaire Rings with Baguette-Cut Diamond Shoulders

A platinum solitaire ring flanked by two baguette-cut diamonds is a design strongly associated with Art Deco-inspired jewelry. Its composition is based on a simple architecture: a central diamond, generally round, framed by two baguette-cut diamonds set horizontally or at a slight angle on the shoulders of the ring.

The contrast between the different diamond cuts is one of the defining features of this type of setting. A brilliant-cut diamond reflects light through its numerous facets, while baguette-cut diamonds, with their step-cut faceting, produce a more linear and understated brilliance. Their rectangular shape naturally draws the eye toward the center stone without creating the effect of a surrounding halo.

Platinum is particularly well suited to this type of construction. Widely used in Art Deco jewelry during the 1920s and 1930s, it allows for strong yet relatively discreet settings. Its naturally white color also complements diamonds and keeps the visual emphasis on the center stone.

Proportions play an essential role in the balance of these rings. The width and length of the baguette-cut diamonds should complement the diameter of the center diamond and the width of the band. Baguettes that are too large may compete visually with the center stone, while stones that are too small may lose their role as a transition between the central diamond and the band.

This design can be found in antique and vintage rings as well as in contemporary creations. In the latter case, it can provide a new setting for an antique diamond or a diamond removed from a vintage piece of jewelry. The age of the stones should therefore be distinguished from the age of the mounting: diamonds removed from antique or vintage jewelry and reset in a new mounting remain antique or vintage stones, but the ring itself is a contemporary creation.

At Héritage de France®, some of our creations use this architecture, combining platinum mountings with carefully selected diamonds removed from antique or vintage jewelry. The result preserves the restrained geometric character of this classic design while giving existing gemstones a new setting.
