Platinum Art Deco Cluster Ring set with a No Heat Ceylon Sapphire and Old Cut Diamonds, circa 1920.

This superb Art-deco ring is set in its center with a Ceylon sapphire, unheated, weighing 2.67 carats in a pearl setting. It is set off by a beautiful surround of old-cut diamonds. The platinum ring, beautifully crafted, is a typical work of the Art-Deco period with its openwork basket.

The Art-Deco jewelry (1910-1935)

In rupture with the Art-Nouveau movement and yielding to the desire of simplicity, symmetry and aesthetic order, a movement emerges and asserts itself from 1910. But it is after the first world war, in 1925, during the international exhibition of decorative arts that the Art-deco style prevails.
